Why get an inspection from an Approved Vehicle Inspection Centre?

Having met the stringent criteria expected by the RAA to be part of this network, the Approved Vehicle Inspection Centres are dedicated to supplying an independent and impartial view of the vehicle at that moment in time, and whilst they are also an RAA Approved Repairer, they will not actively seek repair work from their findings. The service is there to assist you in your decision making, for example when buying a car where you want to feel confident in your purchasing decision and make it as stress-free as possible.

What types of inspections do they provide?

Pre-purchase Mechanical Inspection: designed for car buyers looking to get a mechanical inspection before they buy, and if being purchased from a registered South Australian Used Car Dealer, can assist in identifying warranty items that should be repaired prior to purchase.

Owner Mechanical Inspection: for car owners to get an understanding of the mechanical condition of their car, often prior to sale, holiday or giving away the vehicle to a family member.

South Australian Used Car Warranty Mechanical Inspection: designed to examine the mechanical components and systems covered under the South Australian Used Car Warranty Legislation to identify items requiring repair prior to the expiration of the warranty period.

Interstate Roadworthy inspections: for owners of vehicles registered interstate where a Roadworthy inspection is required. Limited to vehicles up to twelve seats and light commercials up to two tonnes. Accepted by Northern Territory and New South Wales for re-registration purposes.
